Dave and Gil Martin are pleased to welcome you to Appledown House Country Bed and Breakfast, which is set in a lovely rural location in the heart of the Devon countryside, just about as far away from the every day stresses and strains of your normal life as you want to be.
We have two comfortable, light and airy, well-furnished, en-suite bedrooms (a double and a twin/super king). These two rooms form the detached annexe and are self-contained with fully lockable interconnecting doors, ideal for privacy or for friends and family. We have ample off road parking for all our guests as well as secure bicycle storage. Prices are from £27.00 per person, per night*.
The twin/superking room is south-facing with glorious views over the grounds and surrounding countryside and the double room has a lovely light and airy en-suite with shower.
The north-east paddock is home to our free-range chickens who provide you daily with wholesome fresh eggs for your breakfast. There are several inns in the surrounding area and a variety of different eating experiences are available in nearby Tavistock.
Dartmoor is virtually on the doorstep, yet our country retreat is only 3miles from the Stannary*** town of Tavistock. The house and its gardens border open fields and farmland with wonderful country panoramic views towards Dartmoor and the Bere Peninsula. The City of Plymouth, which boasts its own airport and ferry port, lies just 14 miles to the South whilst the M5 motorway and the Cathedral City of Exeter, with its international airport, can easily be accessed via the A30 dual carriageway.
